Dabbe waterfalls

visit natural Dabbe waterfalls. Dabbe falls is near to Gokarna situated at
Sagara taluk of Shimoga district in Karnataka. This waterfall is well known to everyone
because of its natural beauty and the place where it is located. It is situated
in the midst of thick forest of western Ghats of Karnataka. The beautiful and
awesome river Sharavati is connected to this falls and hence they welcome tourists
and nature lovers for trekking, photographing, video shooting, lovers, couples,
youngsters and moreover middle aged and old aged people who wish to relax in
nature and enjoy the nature’s gift.
You can reach this place by road through trekking which is
about 8 kilo meters away from the main road. Please take utmost care while
trekking, photo shooting etc. Before leaving to this place pack your food,
water and necessary trekking tools and accessories along with you. Please
remember to leave the place before 5.30 pm as you have to go back 8 K.M. again
to reach your destination. This place is safe and in case you need any
assistance or help you can contact nearest Sagara police station or nearby
local residents. I suggest you to consult Forest Department before you plunge into Dabbe waterfalls. It is always safe
to report to the concerned authorized official since it is in the forests.
The approximate distance from Gokarna to Dabbe waterfalls is
145 kilometers and the best season to visit this place is from October to January.
Magod falls
Magod falls is just another place located near Yellapur
taluk and approximately 18 kilometers away from Yellapur. The distance between
Gokarna to Yellapura is just 80 kilometers and the destination comes just
before we enter Yellapur. You will see a sign board directing to Magod falls (Follow
the sign board that’s on the right side of the route). This is a beautiful picnic
spot, for little kids to old age people. It is a very quiet and peaceful
waterfalls covered by thick green forests and Bedti River. This place can also be
reached on the way to Gokarna from Hubli or Belgaum route.
Special features of this location is film shooting, serial
shooting for bollywood and sandalwood film industry. Most of the film shootings
have taken place in this location.
Jog Falls
One of the biggest, top and most beautiful waterfalls is
Joga falls in India. This waterfalls is located in Shimoga district, near
Talguppa. This is very close to two districts namely Shimoga and Karwar.(Uttar
Kannada) The distance between Gokarna and Jog falls is about 130 kilometers and
can be reached within 3 hours by road.
This Jog falls has been named as shining crown of the Western
Ghats of Karnataka and attracting millions of people every year by its natural beauty,
falling height, white milky waters, and sounds like someone chanting mantra or
just like a background music, which plunges from a height of 830 feet with
different cascades such as Raja, Rani, Roarer and Rocket. Source of waterfall
is Sharavati River of a Western Ghats.
The waterfalls are covered by thick green forest and look
like a decorated bride and rejuvenate the surroundings of Western Ghats.
One of the special attraction of this waterfall is it falls
directly and does not spread over the rocks or swing into different cascades.
Best place and picnic spot for everyone including especially
for tourists who wish to take photographs, shootings, videos etc.
Transport facilities to jog falls are very convenient from
government and private too.
The best season to visit Jog falls is from September to
December and can visit during rainy season at your risk.
The another name to jog falls is Gerusoppa falls, but
generally people known its name as jog falls. You can also visit Linganamakki
dam site which is located near jog falls. This is a hydro electric power plant
and producing electricity with power and distribution facilities.

Gokarna---Kumta----Siddapura----Jog falls. The distance is approximately 130
kilometers and can be reached within 3 hours.
Unchalli waterfalls
Now it is a time to give few details on Unchalli waterfalls
to nature lovers which is also nearby to Gokarna situated at Sirsi, Uttara Kannada district of
Karnataka. This waterfall is also located in thick forest surrounded by rocks,
mountains and rivers. Amazing and attractive Unchalli waterfalls is exactly
located near Heggarane village and the distance from this village to waterfalls
area is just 7 kilometers. This seven kilometers trekking is proved to be a great
experience. The entire area is surrounded by Areca nuts, betel leaves,
cardamom, pepper, banana, kokum, and jackfruit trees.
The most attracting points in this area are trekking, video
shooting and photography. Also, the whole forest is visible from the top most
point of this place which looks like a bed of greenery. It is advised to take necessary
trekking tools while you are climbing the hill top. Trekking here is mostly
suitable to those who are physically fit, strong and healthy. Do not forget to
take local guide’s assistance to proceed further in this regard. It is a risky
trekking as the rocks are sharp, slippery, and lack of support from one place
to another place.
You can visit this place in the month of November to January
and don’t risk entering this area during rainy season.
Travelling facilities are very convenient. Most convenient facilities
are available to reach up till Heggarane village and the rest of the travelling
should be taken by the visitors themselves. You can also hire taxi from
authorized travel agency to reach this area. You can spend the whole day there
and get back before sun set.
The distance from Gokarna to Unchalli waterfalls is 85
kilometers approximately and it can be reached within two hours by road.

Vibhooti is a small waterfall near Yana, about 50kms from Sirsi North Kanara, Western Ghats. The falls gets its name from the Lime Stone rock nearby. After we pass the Vaddi Ghats we need to take a deviation at a place called Mabagi which is about 3kms from the falls. Other places of interest would be Yana, Unchalli, Benne hole falls.
How to reach Vibhuti Falls?
By road from Sirsi which goes to Mattighatta, Devanalli via Hegadekatta. You will not get a bus which takes you near the waterfall you will have to walk the Vaddi Ghats after you get down at Vaddi cross or Yana
