Festival of Harvest at Gokarna
Bandi Festival
Suggi and Bandi habba (festival) is celebrated here by farmers of Gokarna and surrounding villages. It is a mark of happiness, blissfulness, and fun. This festival is celebrated to convey heartfelt gratitude to God and Goddesses during the harvest period (during the month of April & May).
People begin decorating the town well in advance and the festival is observed for 1 whole month. They perform special puja and conduct religious functions during this period. They worship god for better rain and crops for the upcoming year.
Farmers here are very strong, sincere, hard worker, co operative by nature and are active participate in all the religious activities of Gokarna.
Best season to visit Gokarna: October to March.
