FESTIVALS IN GOKARNA

Festival of Harvest at Gokarna Bandi Festival Suggi and Bandi habba (festival) is celebrated here by farmers of Gokarna and surrounding villages. It is a mark of happiness, blissfulness, and fun. This festival is celebrated to convey heartfelt gratitude to God and Goddesses during the harvest period (during the month of April & May). People begin decorating the town well in advance and the festival is observed for 1 whole month. They perform special puja and conduct religious functions during this period. They worship god for better rain and crops for the upcoming year.
